I am the Banana man!! Peru, the jungle side
Email - New thing..all the kids are shouting gringo like crazy, the first village I was gonna spend the night but had kids literally following me shouting gringo gringo, was doing my head in, so I left…but now after a few days all the kids shout it, but the kids here are super cute, these sun burnedraggyscracgy types, they mean nothing negative, it was annoying, now I`ve kind got used to it..
peru is much more eddgier, its like mexico, just has that feel, that grittyness…I like it, the people are just that bit realer, well a lot more real than in Ecuador, back to cities and towns being crazy, pigs raoming around the streets etc..All the houses I have seen so far, apart from this city, have been adobe bricks…hectic places and all that good stuff…first day, went into a store asking for bananas and the woman gave me like 19 big bananas, take em take em, we got loads around back, u eat bananas for two days straight, you would think you would shit like crazy, but in fact opposite, than a guy gave me 4 bananas, im not one to refuse, than a dude gave me another huge campo banana, that tasted like cardamon…thats how the poeple are here, instead of all that fake bs I been around in ecuador and North. Here a teenage kid will see me, and hold out an avocado without thinking just acting, I will reach out whilst still riding, and take the avacodo baton, just like in the olympics, shout thanks brother! And thats when life is good..Today I stopped to talk to a farmer who was planting rice, shit loads of rice here, takes 5 months from a small 20 inch growth till you get rice, he was like come back in 5 months and I will give you 2 kilos of rice, but for now take these two eggs, most random thing I have ever been given, some kids started laughing, obviously tuned into the craziness, dude pulls up on this bike thing he has been riding for 2 years, and my dad gives him these two pretty small funny looking raw eggs…when I said I came from mexico, he said so you left mexico today then or what? Also this car well jeep stopped me and they were like son of a bitch we saw you the other day, when the road was crazy bad, but now it was paved, dude gave me 2 bananas, I was like I AM THE BANANA MAN! Then a lemon, then some water, and then two tins of fine tuna steak fillets, they were working on electricity in the area, funny guys, I was like yea I want electricty running off my bike,we took photos, cool peeps….
Its kinda expensive here, rice and bananas and stuff not so bad, hotels 4$ standard, they like to sell thing in 3s or 4s, like 3 eggs for 1 sol and chinese, bloody 4$ but you do get a lot of food…
Big problem with alcohol here, had a guy come up to me today, drunk, people in my hotel today, arguing, he is a drunk, bla bla, last night I was in a small one street village, thay had music blasting out until the wee hours, with guys getting drunk, even in the small towns been seeing the problems that are usually only in the cities, people lying flat out, drugged out, here they have a lot of that crappy drugs not sure what exactly, but there is alot of that shit and its cheap, when you see it in the countryside, you know its a problem…also here they have the tuk tuk things, like a motorbike with a cart on the back, to hold people, the other night dude who was you know the taxi driver was following me in one of those things, bottle in hand, shouted, swerving, racing me down this hill, sayin come on, lets go for a drink, bla, bla, then the dude was following me around trying to help me find somewhere to stay…Then yesterday a woman stopped her mototaxi thing, two women they were selling ice cream, and gave me to servings and some fruit, she told me the problems Peruvian men have with alcohol, and sleeping around, and that she left her husband for this reason, straight away I thought she must be single, because women dont usually do those jobs, if I was willing to settle down and get a job here and make a life, she would have liked that, she was beautiful 30s or something, peruvian women have this like strong face, strong cheek bones structure, femine still, and then they have this kind of Chinese mixed in. Anyway I tried telling her my ways, she wanted to know how foreign men think, and then she started telling me I had nice hair and eyes and all that, I wished her luck, she did me the same..Been getting eyes here, at least women paying attention to me slightly, in more than a dirty trampy dude, I think because of the general asshole population, hooking up with a foreigner appeals to most women here..Think thats why there are super popular gringo hangout spots like cuzco and lima, those guys must get swarmed, the geek in the states will be swarmed by beauties down here in some parts…
All for now, brain is a little frazzled, its hotter than hell here, big climate change,
love
