bloody terroists! You better get your ass on that bus!
Email – So Im having lunch and a man turns round and ask me what country, we get chatting and he tells me further down the road, I wanna get a lift and not ride it, its dangerous, he lowers his voice ´there are terroists´ ..be carefull.I have a truck and I go there so I know. I didnt think much of it, well you know, then I check out someones blog who made the same road a while back, they got a set of 3 rides over the area, its pure jungle, home to the shining path, who are still active, and lots of drugs, and the road is crazy dirt and just insane, this couple had ridden around the world and said it was the worst they had seen, even worse than pakistan and india. They had had men give them the slicing of throat action and I checked the offiial government thing, ooops, they are saying like no ground travel permitted whatsoever, just flights into the cities in the area, and there are places all over the place where you cant go, im heading in to the worst one I think…and just when I was thinking what I should do, the same man from the restaurant yesterday walked into the internet cafe as I was leaving, and I was like thats that then, gotta get a ride until im out of the area, like 300 miles or something and into the mountains….
Its a good job i checked as I would have been on that road from hell, its would have been pissing it down as well, and it would have been well dodge and I wouldnt have even known just how bad it was until I had a rifle in my face…shining path, they dont fuck around….
FB – yesterday knocked out 110 km, on cereal and bananas, loved it, it was one of those epic days, going for it and moving…1 dude saw me as I was eating a banana looking down into the valley below, you just wont believe the sights I am and have seen everyday, amazing landscapes that just make, well you just get pumped..nature is awesome, anyway dude was going past in a truck, out the window he was holding two mandarines he must have had them on hand or something, I gave him the non verbal do it, and he launched them out the window, jeep was cruising behind, I gave them the non verbal dont do it, and claimed my gift laughing that today is a good day, im doing it without much food, just high of air, and it was pissing it down all day, big time…
And with that I took a 36hour bus ride back the way I had just ridden for the past 7 days, and over to the coast and to Lima. Rather than takng several sma busses and messing with the bike and tuff, I just got one that went al the way around and back up and then back down, and aaahhh did you say 36 hours.Meeting a close friend there who was flying in all the way from Mexico.
